Summary accounts at 31 January 2024

The Parish Council is required to publish details of all payments made in excess of £500.00. The document below shows all payments of £500.00 and above (net of VAT). This information is updated quarterly in July, October, January and April.

The Parish Council is required to publish information relating to grants made, land and buildings and procurement in order to comply with the Local Government Transparency Code 2015. This requirement applies to all local councils which have either gross annual income or expenditure exceeding £200,000.

This information is updated quarterly in July, October, January and April.

In the period April 2023 to December 2023 the Council made the following grants:
–  £237.00 to Long Melford Events Group in support of Long Melford Open Gardens
–  £500.00 to Friends of Long Melford Library to widen library activities
–  £1,500.00 to Long Melford Events Group for the pre Christmas Festival
–  £211.42 to Sudbury District Scout Group to support annual district parade costs

In the period April 2023 to December 2023 the Council issued the following qualifying tenders or contracts:
(a) £18,922.64 + VAT to Glasdon for street bollards
3 quotations sought – see minute 23/10E-2(a)(i)
(b) £11,440.00 + VAT to AJ Smith for installation of street bollards
3 quotations sought – see minute 23/10E/2(a)(ii)

Other declarations
1. The Parish Council has a lease to provide an estimated 65 unmarked parking spaces at the Old School which is located on High Street just below The Green. The Council also has a lease to provide an estimated 12 unmarked parking spaces on land below the Long Melford Hospital overlooking the Upper Green.
The Parish Council provides free parking on these sites as a community service.
2. Local Councils are required to publish details of employees whose remuneration in the year was at least £50,000. No Long Melford Parish Council employee falls into this category.
