Acton Parish Council and Long Melford Parish Council are jointly exploring opportunities to designate several rural lanes in their parishes as “Quiet Lanes”, as part of a national project. (Please see the information leaflet available via this link.
Quiet Lanes are rural lanes shared by walkers, horse riders, cyclists and other road users. The purpose of their designation is to encourage drivers to respect non-motorised lane users, so that they can enjoy rural lanes in greater safety. The lanes being considered are:
* Mills Lane from Acton Lane to the A134
* The lane from Newmans Green to Cuckoo Tye
* Cuckoo Tye Lane
